Black Magic is becoming extremely popular.  Young adults (teenagers) as well as many adults have taken to smoking this potent substance.  Black Magic is a blend of ingredients such as Damiana, Blue Lotus, and Passion flowers, Baybean, Lemon Grass, Dwarf Skull Cap, Indian Pennyworth, Marshmallow and Pink Lotus Flower.   Many people suspect that Black Magic is being treated with either cannabis or a synthetic THC.

At the present time the use and sale of Black Magic is perfectly legal. Black Magic is clearly marked as a "Herbal Incense" for those 18+ and not for human consumption.  However,  people are getting high off smoking Black Magic Smoke.

Black magic is readily available in local "head shops", convenience stores, gas stations etc.  Black Magic is especially popular among those who want to get high without getting caught by traditional urine tests.  For this reason it is extremely popular with people on parole, military personnel, professionals and others whose job might do drug screening and persons living in half way houses and/or Partial, Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient drug and alcohol Programs.

Because of the perceived abuse of this substance many states are presently considering legislation that will stop the sale of Black Magic.

Since the Black Magic is a "legal Drug" (and I am going to refer to it as a drug) what is the danger.   First it is clearly being misused. Aerosol cans are legal, but each year hundreds of people die from the use of "Wiffits". (Wiffits are administered by making a hole in the can and inhaling the aerosol gas.)  Although widely distributed on the internet, we do not know what the effect of smoking this herbal incense will be.

The second reason is that it is dangerous is that the substance is reputed to be legal marijuana.  People, especially teens, having tried the legal version are now tempted to experiment with the real thing.  Also if the drug has been treated with synthetic THC, the side effects of smoking that will also be present.
