Discovery Health featured C.A.R.E. in a four hour documentary several years ago because out of 60 rehabs interviewed, C.A.R.E. was the only drug rehab center that actually provided all the services that were advertised.
Many treatment centers have followed C.A.R.E.’s lead in advertising “holistic treatment”. However, many provide only one group acupuncture session a week. C.A.R.E. provides a much higher level of holistic treatment.
For instance, when a patient is addicted to pain medications, we are able to provide up to three individual acupuncture sessions a week as needed for pain management as well as withdrawal from the drugs, thereby treating the source of the problem for these patients. As primary care physicians we are able to treat many conditions present in addictive patients with the use of acupuncture, herbal therapies, yoga, massage and therapeutic grade essential oils. Finally, we offer four group acupuncture sessions a week to aid in withdrawal, anxiety, insomnia, and depression. These group sessions have allowed some patients feel better and decreased their dependence on psychotropic medications. Our holistic treatment is provided at no additional cost to our patients and is offered to everyone.
While we do not feel that alternative treatment will take the place of counseling, psychiatric care and support systems such as AA or NA, we have found them to be of significant benefit in helping patients become more involved and receptive to the more conventional forms of treatment. We do not advertise holistic medicine because it is fashionable but because we have found it to be a very real and important part of treatment, and has lasting impact upon the quality of life of our patients.

The difference between C.A.R.E. and many other programs is that none of these treatments are ever considered add-on services with additional fees. Every treatment you receive at C.A.R.E., except for physician's visits and medical attention, is INCLUDED in the fee you were quoted upon admission.
