Compulsive Gambling and Gambling Rehab

The compulsive gambling program at CARE recognizes the seriousness of gambling addiction. We know that it requires more than just substituting gambling for alcohol whenever the word appears in a traditional treatment program. This unique program allows our clients to experience and practice important life skills needed to achieve and maintain a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The combination of structured living and intensive therapy assists clients in examining their compulsive behaviors and causes of their gambling addiction. We believe that recovery is possible and that it requires an interdisciplinary approach. Therefore, we provide a variety of activities designed to address specific issues and concerns.

Patient’s in the gambling track, attend gambling specific groups, work with Nationally Certified Gambling Counselors, and address both the emotional and pragmatic issues. CARE works closely with the very strong Gamblers anonymous community in Palm Beach. Pressure relief groups, family counseling and budget training are just a few of the services that may include in the individual treatment plan.

CARE understands each client has special individual needs. Therefore, our program is highly individualized, has a low client to therapist ratio and is designed to address specific issues as they arise. We believe this approach, accompanied with mutual support and the introduction to the twelve-step program of Gamblers Anonymous (GA) will bring about a transformation that will allow the client to resume their life with a renewed sense of well-being, responsibility and purpose.

Relapse Prevention

There are many triggers to relapse for recovering alcoholics and addicts, but there are also preventive measures that can be successful.

CARE has a relapse prevention program designed specifically for our alumni. These two programs can at times be very appropriate in assisting with addiction recovery. Education for Chemical Dependency is also offered at CARE. This program is very beneficial in helping residents learn more about their specific addiction, as well as in encouraging them to take their motivation for recovery to the next level.

For those who choose to return home, care will continue to provide telephone support, alumni weekends and be available to help you with any problems that occur during transition and beyond. In order to ensure continued progress, patients leaving care receive a continuing care plan which will include:

An appointment with a local therapist who will receive (with the patient’s permission) CARE Records.
A list of available meetings and resources.
A schedule of activities for the first few weeks of transition.
Continuing telephone communication with their CARE primary therapist and other counselors

Dual Diagnosis Drug treatment Facilities

Multiple illnesses can often co-exist in a single person. Coexisting Disorders are commonly called dual diagnosis. Conservative estimates state that sixty to seventy percent of people entering treatment has one or more co-existing conditions. Frequently, these multiple conditions complicate recovery. Patients overcome one area then fall victim to another condition in a vicious cycle of relapse and frustration.

Co-existing Conditions and Dual Diagnosis at CARE

At CARE we believe in treating the whole individual. We know that pain, emotional and/or physical can contribute to drug and alcohol use. We are fully aware that addiction can further complicate mental and physical ailments. Many treatment centers do not specialize in dual diagnosis or co-existing disorders but our counselors and treatment program specialists recognize the existance of a co-existing disorder and define an entire treatment program around dual diagnosis patients attacking the mental disorder itself as well as the additction.

CARE's multi-disciplinary team will help you address each of these areas as our specialists work with you to identify the underlying causes of your problem and address them.

Intensive Dual Diagnosis Program

Our dual diagnosis program is comprehensive. Patients in the program are assigned a primary therapist who is a Masters level individual specializing in Addiction Treatment and Mental Health. A minimum of one weekly Psychiatric treatment team visit is scheduled with the multi-disciplinary team which consists of the Psychiatrist, Clinical Director, Primary Counselor, Nurse, Coordinator of Alternative Medicine and other appropriate individuals as required by the patient’s individualized treatment plan. When needed our community resource specialist, who is a licensed clinical social worker, will provide continuing case management. Those requiring supervised living and continuing care can join our continuing care program after graduation.

Drug Detox

Often the most distressing aspect of treatment is the initial detoxification from the substances you have been taking. this is a critical time and success in detox will impact successful integration into treatment. In order to make this process as comfortable as possible, upon arrival at CARE our clients meet with a physician, who will take a medical history and give a physical examination. When necessary, a detoxification protocol is begun and carried out under medical supervision. Every effort is taken to make this phase of treatment as comfortable as possible.

Treatment for Drug Addiction

Instead of requiring you to follow the same uniform plan for recovery, those of us at CARE will work with you to develop a unique schedule. By taking our Clinical Diagnostic Assessment, our professional team will create for you a personalized plan for recovery, one that addresses your psychological as well as physical needs.

CARE has a 12-step program as well as a relapse prevention program designed specifically for those enrolled in our Chemical Dependency Program. These two programs can at times be very appropriate in assisting with addiction recovery. Education for Chemical Dependency is also offered at CARE. This program is very beneficial in helping residents learn more about their specific addiction, as well as in encouraging them to take their motivation for recovery to the next level.
Drug Treatment & Drug Addiction Information

Drug Treatment & Drug Addiction Information

Addiction occurs when someone compulsively seeks a drug substance and uses it regardless of any physical, emotional or psychological consequences. Most people take drugs in order to forget about a problem, or use them to take the place of something else in their lives. No one starts out with the desire to become an addict or wants to cause hardship for themselves. Frequently, drug addiction will only end up making a problem worse and as a result, even more of a hassle to deal with than before.

Drug Addiction is a serious problem. At this time, over 13 million Americans claim to use illegal drugs. Various types of drugs include: stimulants, inhalants, cannabinoids, depressants, opioids and morphine derivatives, anabolic steroids, hallucinogens and prescription drugs. Drug addiction occurs with illegal and legal drugs and can affect anyone no matter how much potential they may have to succeed in the world.

The Signs of Drug Addiction

Depression, anxiety, the inability to handle a situation and other stresses in life are frequent reasons why drug use begins in the first place. How do you know if someone you care about uses drugs or may have an addiction to them? A few common signs of drug addiction are:

Constantly thinking about the drug
Poor coordination
Rapid or slurred speech
Drowsiness
Hallucinations
Unable to quit using drugs on your own
Memory loss
Nausea
Red eyes
Irritability, frequently Argumentative
Here at CARE, we recognize these symptoms of drug abuse and seek to help. The effects of drug addiction can be devastating due to the frequent mood changes it causes. Irritability, a complete calmness or lack of enthusiasm to participate in life can result in poor financial stability, the deterioration of relationships, and even loss of a job or homelessness. Our specialized treatment programs can help you overcome this powerful addiction.

What causes drug addiction?

Not everyone will become addicted to the drugs they take, but do certain things impact our susceptibility to them? Drug addiction can be affected by the following:

Genetics affect our susceptibility to drugs. Different drugs affect our body system in different ways, for instance, one person may enjoy the effects of a drug while another may not due to chemicals and signals affecting the brain. Drugs in the category of Cannabinoids contain delta-9-tetrahydrocannibinol (THC), which sends out signals throughout the body. For some, the results are pleasing, but for others, the results are not. Also, someone who is directly related to an addict has a higher chance of becoming one than another person might.

Another important aspect of drug addiction is its availability. Also, each drug has its own physical makeup and thus each drug varies in the time it takes to become addicted. Depending on what drugs, if any, you have available to you, your use then determines if and how fast you will become addicted.

Past trauma is a factor that causes many people to use drugs. Sexual abuse, loss of a loved one or some sort of an accident are all things someone would want to forget. Often times, people will deal with these problems and temporarily allow themselves to forget about them by using drugs.

Another factor to be considered is the influence of peers in one’s life. If your friends take drugs, you are far likelier to take them yourself as you will constantly be around them, and they will be readily available. Also, society aids in the pull toward drug addiction. Many people have been programmed to believe that taking drugs is a part of life and an experience everyone should have. In reality, taking drugs causes numerous health complications, as well as personal problems and is an unnecessary risk.
Through our holistic approach to recovery we hope to consider each of the previously mentioned issues with you. Genetics, past trauma, personality, family life, nutrition and fitness level, are all separate components we treat in our search to address every faucet of your life, not only your medical components.

What are the effects of drug addiction?

The effects of drug addiction are numerous. In fact, approximately 40 million people in the U.S. have contracted serious injuries and sicknesses as a result of drug use. Although the effects may differ according to the drugs taken, the following are some common effects of long-term drug abuse:

Physical Effects

Various diseases – HIV, Hepatitis A and B
Increased or Decreased heart rate
Infections
Arthritis
Alterations in the brain
Overdose/death
Seizures
Respiratory problems
Emotional Effects

Panic attacks
Aggressiveness
Depression
Nervousness, Paranoia
Unusually calm
Effects of Drug Addiction Withdrawal

The Next Step Toward Alcohol Treatment

So what now? Well, that’s the question that millions of Americans ask themselves everyday. Too many times in our society, that question goes unanswered and the people who need help the most don’t get it. Is it wrong to think that a problem with alcohol addiction will just blow away with tomorrow’s breeze? Is it possible that somewhere down the line things will just right themselves and go back to normal? Well, ask yourself, if you sweep dirt under the rug, does it really go away?

Try as you may, you will never find a better solution to alcohol addiction and/or abuse than alcohol rehab. It is merely stating the obvious to say that nobody wants to admit to having issues with alcohol addiction. Who would? And although stating that you have an alcohol addiction is admirable, and the first step toward recovery, it also means you may have the fight of your life ahead of you.

Alcohol Treatment Program

If you are looking at this page, either you and/or someone you care about are probably using alcohol in a way that concerns you. Alcohol Abuse. No one likes to think of themselves as being an alcoholic. On the other hand, if you are asking the question, you probably need an answer. Alcoholics are people who have a problem with the effects of drinking. Whether it is that Mom gets sloshed every night, your son stays out with his friends and participates in underage drinking, Dad gets nasty at parties after he has had one too many, or someone has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, a professional evaluation is in order. When the disease begins to affect your life or that of someone you care about negatively, you need to do something about it. You probably should consider an alcohol treatment center.

NEW TRENDS IN DRUG ABUSE - ULTRAM ABUSE ON THE RISE

NEW TRENDS IN DRUG ABUSE - ULTRAM ABUSE ON THE RISE

Ultram is a highly addictive pain killer prescribed for use for those suffering from moderate to severe pain. Time release versions are often prescribed for those suffering from chronic pain. It can be extremely dangerous when mixed with other narcotics, prescription drugs and painkillers or even alcohol. The effects of the Ultram will be multiplied and even a modest amount of abuse can result in debilitating addiction. Ultram should be used exactly as prescribed by your physician. If you are afraid that you are abusing Ultram, mixing ultram with any other drug or alcohol or are concerned that you have been misprescribed you should call 1-866-494-0866 immediately and seek help.

In recent weeks more reports of abuse and addiction of Ultram are being cited. There are a growing number of people who report dependency on Ultram and who feel that the drug may not be worth the side effects and potential dependency that it produces. There is an alternative. Our pain management detox program teaches patients effective non-drug dependent ways t manage pain and reduce the chances of relapse once and for all.

Ultram Rehabilitation and Ultram Detoxification

CARE FLORIDA provides one of the most comprehensive approach to narcotics and prescription painkiller abuse. We use a modified 12 Step Program similar to those used by Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. In addition students are put through an intensive pain management program and holistic healing plan which includes yoga and specific pain management exercises developed by leading physicians and innovators in alternative medicine. Our intensive program provides detox patients with the most tools they need to prevent relapse and is one of the most well-rounded and advanced drug rehabilitation programs in the country. it is suitable for Ultram and other narcotics as well as other drugs or alcohol that a patient may be abusing as self-medication and is also suitable for depression, bi-polar disorders and other dual diagnosis situations.

SPECIFIC DRUGS, EATING DISORDERS AND GAMBLING ADDICTION

SPECIFIC DRUGS, EATING DISORDERS AND GAMBLING ADDICTION

CARE understands that not all patients are created equal. Neither are all drugs. The combination of the drug and the personality makes for a complex treatment situation. It is this complexity that makes other drug rehabs less successful in relapse prevention. CARE FLORIDA'S understanding of these intricacies in drug rehab and addiction treatment make us a safe and effect way to get your life back on track. CARE has been successful in drug addiction treatment, alcohol detoxification and relapse prevention of drugs including heroine, cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, ultram, prescription drugs, oxycontin, percocet, vicodin and hundreds more. Our methods are tried and true. Many of our patients will never have to visit a rehabilitation facility again.

In addition to drug rehabilitation and alcohol detox, CARE has had enormous success applying these same principles of customized treatment and holistic healing to those suffering from eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia, or over eating as well as gambling addiction, sex addiction and even internet addiction. Our well rounded and diversified addiction treatment staff can provide you with a specifically tailored custom treatment program that relieves your pain and sets you on a course for a clean and happy life.

DRUG REHABILITATION AND DETOX - Why is CARE Different?

CARE FLORIDA does not just treat an addiction. We treat a person - a human being with specific needs, histories and reasons for becoming dependent on a substance or a way of life. CARE looks deep at the problems of each individual and designs a custom addiction treatment program to fit the needs of your addiction and of YOU. We use a modified 12 Step Program like those traditionally found at Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous but go far beyond where institutions like those leave off. Through holistic healing, pain management and treatment of underlying psychological factors we have a high success rate of drug rehabilitation, alcohol detox and continue to concentrate on relapse prevention.

Only CARE goes the extra mile to make sure you have all of the tools you need when you leave the drug rehab center to stay out of the grips of addiction and relapse forever.
