There are many triggers to relapse for recovering alcoholics and addicts, but there are also preventive measures that can be successful.
CARE has a relapse prevention program designed specifically for our alumni. These two programs can at times be very appropriate in assisting with addiction recovery. Education for Chemical Dependency is also offered at CARE. This program is very beneficial in helping residents learn more about their specific addiction, as well as in encouraging them to take their motivation for recovery to the next level.
For those who choose to return home, CARE will continue to provide telephone support, alumni weekends and be available to help you with any problems that occur during transition and beyond. In order to ensure continued progress, patients leaving CARE receive a continuing care plan which will include:
- An appointment with a local therapist who will receive (with the patient’s permission) CARE Records.
- A list of available meetings and resources.
- A schedule of activities for the first few weeks of transition.
- Continuing telephone communication with their CARE primary therapist and other counselors
CARE seeks to rid you of your

relapse. Remember to stop drinking is the pre-requisite….the goal is to return to a quality life.
