Executive Director

Dr. Wallick holds Ph.D.'s in both counseling and addictions, is a fellow of the American College of Addictions Examiners, a diplomat of the National Association of Forensic Examiners and an oral examiner for the Florida Certification Board.

Dr. Wallick is a former faculty member of University of Miami School of Addictions Counseling, assistant professor of family and community Medicine at Hershey Medical School and is president of the Professional Training Association.

Dr. Wallick is the author of numerous papers in the field of addictions and presents frequently at major conferences.

Medical Director of Psychiatric Services

Dr. Romanos is a well-known psychiatrist in the South Florida area as well as on a national level. He is the former chief of psychiatry at Columbia Hospital and possesses many years of experience in the treatment of addictions, mental health disorders and dual diagnosis.

Clinical Director

Dr. Aimee Wallick holds a Ph.D. in addiction counseling and is a Certified Addiction Professional as well as a Certified Mental Health Professional. Additionally, she is an Oral Examiner for the Florida Certification Board and is a Certified Forensic Counselor.

She specializes in dealing with the dual diagnosed patients. Aimee has practiced in Pennsylvania, New York and Florida since 1985.

Director of Alternative Medicine

Sue Naversen earned her BS degree from the University of Michigan, BA & MA from the Clayton Colleg of Natural Health, and MA from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine.  She has a background in western medicine and worked as a PA for twelve years before resuming her education in alternative medicine.  She is a National Board Certified Acupuncture Physician (NCCAOM) as well as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist with NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association).  She brings a unique abiltiy to integrate eastern and western medicine for the treatment of addictions.

Supervising and Lead Therapist

Craig Givens is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor.

He received his master's degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1996 and has worked in the addiction and mental health fields since 1997, dealing with substance abuse, alcohol dependency, codependency, relationship issues, trauma, and sex addiction.

Craig has experience with the chronically mentally ill, specifically those afflicted with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. He is adept in working with those who are dually diagnosed and is trained and certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (E.M.D.R.)

In addition to being a counselor, Craig is an adjunct faculty member of Palm Beach Community College where he teaches classes for C.A.P., Psychology and Human Services. He also teaches continuing education classes for professionals.

Gary Cohen has degrees in Human Services and Chemical Dependency, and is a Lifeskills Training Specialist. His experience includes positions as a Substance Abuse Coordinator for the Mohawk Valley Community College, and Prevention Manager for the Mohawk Valley Council on alcoholism and addictions.

Primary Therapist

Debi Woods received her master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and completed the mental health track. Prior to C.A.R.E., Debi practiced marriage and family counseling and is certified in Prepare-Enrich Marriage and Couples Therapy. She has experience in treating dual diagnosis and trauma therapy including E.M.D.R.

Primary Therapist

Tracy Radebaugh has a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri at St.Louis in Psychology and her master's degree from Florida Atlantic University in social work. She is currently working on obtaining her license as an L.C.S.W. through completing the state requirements as a mental health professional. Tracy is skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (C.B.T.), Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy and Narrative Therapy.

Acupuncture Physician

Daniel Lewis is a Licensed Acupuncture Physician, nationally board certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. He received his master's degree in Oriental medicine from Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale. Daniel is Nationally Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and holds certificates in Massage Therapy, Holistic Health Practitioner and Integrative Shiatsu from Meuller College of Holistic Studies in San Diego, C.A.  He is also a graduate of the School for the Evolution of Humanity in Asheville, N.C. where he studied hands-on healing energy.

Registered Dietitian

Michelle Parenti Lewis, MS, RD, LD/N is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist and Health Coach who has taught nutrition and healthy living to individuals and groups since 1997.  Michelle received her Bachelor degree in Food and Nutrition from Florida International University and her Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition with a focus in Health Behavior and Promotion from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.  Michelle is passionate about nutrition, food quality, and the availability of wholesome foods.  Michelle believes strongly in the power of example and practices a healthy and active lifestyle.

Spiritual Counselor and Ordained Minister

Catherine Etheridge is the spiritual counselor and healing facilitator at C.A.R.E. Her patients are compassionately assisted to remember their spiritual essence and encouraged to seek an elevated life perspective. In addition, through guided meditations, energy healing sessions, relaxation techniques and processes, patients learn to find their own inner peace and quiet the mental and physical chaos which so often impede rehabilitation and recovery.

Eating Disorder Specialist, Body & Self Esteem

Suzanne Spencer is a recovery coach for C.A.R.E. Florida. She works with adults offering a group and individual therapy program on self esteem. Spencer brings to C.A.R.E her experience working with men, women and adolescents in the areas of substance abuse, chemical dependency and eating disorders.

Suzanne has worked within the recovery field with such organizations as Rehab After Work, The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness, halfway houses through out Palm Beach County, a weekly radio show on addiction, her private Practice of Compass2Life, and the Compass2Life Body Image and Life Skills program in Delray Beach. Her experience, training and personal journey in the recovery field gave her a unique approach towards providing recovery skills, support and counseling. Suzanne attended the University of Waterloo and is a Certified C.R.S.S.,& C.R.P.S.-A

Sandtray and Expressive Therapy

Delores received her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Louisville, KY. In addition, she holds undergraduate degrees in psychology and early childhood education.  Ms. Bass is proficient in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (C.B.T.), Solution Focused Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (R.E.B.T.) and Expressive Therapy; specifically Art and Sandtray Therapy.  Delores specializes in the behavioral disorders and dual diagnosis.  After receiving her Master's degree, Ms. Bass continued post graduate work at the University of Louisville in the Expressive Therapies Program with a focus on Art Therapy.  In addition, she has completed specialized training in Problem Oriented Art Therapy and Art Therapy combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  While attending the Expressive Therapies Program, she developed an interest in Sandtray - Word Play Therapy.  Ms. Bass received her training directly from the method's creator, Dr. Gisela Schuback De Domemico, who is an internationally recognized learder in the field.  After completing all six levels of training with Dr. De Domenico, Ms. Bass has been providing clients a powerful multidimensional experiential therapeutic tool for the last 12 years.

Massage Therapist

Donna Reppenhagen is a Licensed Massage Therapist who integrates massage, movement and meditation with technique in breath stillness to facilitate"body-brain-balance" for the individual. She has worked in Family Intensive Workshops, with the elderly in nursing homes as well as individual patients. Donna utilizes mixed art and movement workshops and has custom formatted workshops based on patient's needs.

Donna has received her education at Irene's School of Myomassology, Michigan S.N.I., and I.M.F. International Myomassology Federation. Her training is extensive in Swedish Polarity, Reflexology, Shiatsu, One-Brain, Hellerwork, Sports Massage, Craniosacral (level one), and Aromatherapy. Donna is nationally certified and has taught practical massage techniques to beginning students going through the certification process.

Ed Force is a Licensed Massage Therapist and is the Yoga Instructor at C.A.R.E.  Ed has been in independent practice since 1999 and joined the C.A.R.E. Staff in 2003 as an integral part of our alternative medicine program.

Eric Lee has over thirty five years experience instructing in various arts and disciplines such as Tai Chi Chuan, Chinese and Hatha Yoga, Self Esteem and Mixed Martial Arts.

With many years experience working with alcohol, drug, and gambling addiction clients (patients and/or treatment facilities), Unification of Mind, Body and Spirit is the prevailing theme and goal of the programs.

In addition, Eric Lee also has children's Yoga and Karate programs through the Palm Beach County School District and also works one on one with those with special needs.

Pervis holds a B.S. degree from Concord College.  As a former professional football running back, he is a certified personal trainer with special certifications in nutrition, and sports training. Pervis has designed and initiated numerous programs. At C.A.R.E. he teaches physical fitness and helps motivate clients to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Judith Evans is our registered nurse and works in the medical office with the psychiatrist and counselors in regards to the well being of our clients at C.A.R.E. Judy attended McGill University where she received her B.S. degree and majored in math and chemistry. She also attended Broward Community College where she earned her associate's degree in nursing. Judy assists in the intake process and the general medical needs of our clients.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Rhonda Shaw is a Licensed Practical Nurse and assists our medical team with client admissions and general medical needs.  Rhonda is also part of our Resident Manager Staff and a great addition to C.A.R.E.'s professional team.  She has many years experience working in other medical and residential facilities, and has emergency room, surgical and mental health training.

Medical Technician

John Imburgia attended Broward Community College and earned his certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T.). He also attended Florida Medical Training Institute for further education at the paramedic level. John administrates medical intakes and vitals of our clients when they arrive at C.A.R.E. and works with our psychiatrist in regards to preparing prescription schedules for clients. John is available daily during the week for clients to assist in their general medical well being and is an important part of our medical support team.

Gambling Program Director & Professional Development Coordinator

Richard DiGregorio entered the field of recovery in the early 1980's with Dr. Larry Schmidt, Ph.D. at the Substance Abuse Center of Michigan after completing a one-year internship in conjunction with the Merrill Palmer Institute. Prompted by his personal experience and commitment to serve, DiGregorio co-founded the Michigan Council on Problem Gambling. He was proctored by Dr. Jules Tabor, Ph.D., Director of the Brecksville Veterans Affairs Inpatient Gambling Treatment Center and schooled by Joanna Franklin, Chairperson for the National Certification Board for Problem Gambling. Richard holds a diploma in certified addictions professional and has his Masters of Business Administration and trained under Dr. Pellitier, Dean of Organic Chemistry at the University of Illinois before being recruited from college into a management training program by a Fortune 100 Company. "Dick D" has a reputation for bringing a sincere passion to his service with suffering addicts.


Arnie Wexler

Arnie Wexler is a Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor (C.C.G.C.), and was the Executive Director of the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey for eight years. Arnie is one of the foremost experts on compulsive gambling in this country, and has been involved in helping compulsive gamblers for over 30 years. He has appeared on Oprah, Night Line, and 48 Hours.

Arnie has presented workshops and training seminars nationally and internationally. He has spoken to many gaming industry executives, Fortune 500 corporations, legislative bodies, and on college campuses across the nation. He has also done trainings for the National Football League.


Shelia Wexler

Shelia Wexler is a Licensed, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (L.C.A.D.C.), and a Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor (C.C.G.C.). She has been working in the field of addictions since 1977. Sheila has worked in residential treatment, out-patient services and private practice. She has had extensive experience in counseling the addicted person and their families. Sheila is one of the pioneers in the treatment of compulsive gambling.

In 1987 Shelia developed, and implemented a compulsive gambling in-patient treatment program at New Hope Foundation in Marlboro, New Jersey. Sheila is the author of a Chart on the Effects of Compulsive Gambling on the Family. She has instructed addiction education classes throughout the country. She has also done extensive training on expanding addiction services to include compulsive gambling treatment.

Business Office Manager

Caitlin attended Cooper Academy and Eissey College studying Business Administration and brings with her years of experience working in various office settings and the public.  Caitlin is head of our Business Office and oversees all financial affairs at C.A.R.E. Florida.  She, along with our Health Information Manager, Alison, will help you with the initial admissions process and assist you with any questions or concerns you may have regarding you or your family member entering treatment here at C.A.R.E. 

Caitlin also has a personal interest in the field of Psychology and Addiction Treatment and is continuing her education to eventually work in therapy and counseling.

Alison is finishing her degree at Indian River State College and will be continuing her education in Health Informatics and Administration.  She brings to C.A.R.E. over a decade of experience in diverse healthcare settings.  Alison will be able to help you with any insurance questions that you may have, and along with Caitlin, will help assist you and your family through the admission process.

A native Floridian, Sheryl brings over 25 years of office and administrative experience along with her smiling personality to her work at C.A.R.E. An integral part of the C.A.R.E. operation, Sheryl greets visitors in the reception area with a smile and posesses an innate ability to calm even the most nervous visitor. She is currently working on her certification as a Behavioral Health Technician.


Rex

Rex

Greeting Specialist

Rex, a noble "golden no can tell", is the resident pet therapy and drug detection dog. Rescued from the pound in 2001 by a graduate of the C.A.R.E. program who is a professional dog trainer, Rex is used to detect illicit drugs in the programs and offices. Not satisfied with his position as an agency policeman, his wagging tail and good disposition quickly won his way into the hearts of staff and patients. He now doubles as a therapy dog helping patients deal non-verbally with anxiety and other emotions.

When you come to C.A.R.E., it is most likely that he will be there to welcome you at the door
